Details of our 6 week practical beekeeping course for beginners are on the Events page. Both this course and our Theory Course for beginners get booked up very quickly, and places are limited. For members who miss out on this course, all is not lost because our apiary manager holds regular sessions at our Woodbank apiary.

The practical course is designed primarily for those members who completed our Theory Course. It is an opportunity to handle bees and learn the practical manipulations and techniques that will enable you to be a better beekeeper. It's important to be sure that you are comfortable around bees before investing in your own hives, bees and other equipment.

The price for the course in 2024 is £100 per person. The 2023 course is fully booked up.
